Production Planner

Position Summary As a Production Planner in our Chesterfield, MO location you are responsible for developing & maintaining the production schedule for the Subassembly and Machining Operations supporting the Instrument Management Service - Repair division. Specific tasks include tracking and fulfillment of customer orders (primarily for internal STERIS customers), maintaining in-process inventory levels, and stocked, finished good levels. This position will interface with Subassembly manager, Repair operations leader, purchasing, & inventory managers. This position requires onsite work during core business hours between 6am and 4:30pm Monday through Friday. What You'll Do as a Production Planner Analyze, develop, and publish daily/weekly/monthly production schedules that best meet customer requirements and inventory objectives. Issue and schedule work orders to maintain manufactured component inventory via Kanban production system and other standard production practices. Issue and schedule work orders to maintain stocked finished good kit inventory via Kanban production system and other standard production practices. Daily support for manufacturing to resolve scheduling challenges and advise on priorities. Work with Repair operations, inventory managers and manufacturing supervision to resolve scheduling issues. Collaboration with Repair operations, engineering, and manufacturing to resolve customer and facility build requirements. Participate in new products implementation and new process development to support New Capability development and insource of component production. Develop and maintain procedures and work instructions to support production planning. Performs extensive data entry and analysis. Abides by Steris-IMS health, safety, and environmental requirements and quality requirements including ISO standards. Supports and actively participates in company's lean philosophy of continuous improvement. The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed Required: Bachelor's degree, required. Minimum 2 years' experience with MRP working with computerized planning, inventory and production control systems, and/or manual Kanban systems. Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning and Master Planning. Demonstrated ability to work with a large amount of detailed data and maintain accuracy under time constraints in a multiple task, multiple priority environment. Excellent technical/computer skills including Excel. Sound business judgment and decision making. Ability to work with employees at all levels of management. Demonstrated analytical experience or ability. Demonstrated knowledge of lean and continuous improvement. Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, problems solving, business acumen, and time management skills. Preferred: APICS Certification. Previous planning experience. Strong analytical skills. Experience using digital tools (i.e. Share point, Oracle, Adobe). Experience creating databases and systems of record.
