Core Job Summary The Philanthropy Officer develops and executes strategies to secure major gifts from donors and prospects, supporting the goals of the assigned unit/s. Core Job Functions Identify prospective donors and funding sources; develop cultivation and solicitation plans involving faculty, staff, and volunteers. Maintain regular communication and stewardship with donors, including acknowledgments, reporting, visits, and updates on departmental progress. Assist donors and prospects with appointments and scheduling, facilitating clinical encounters as needed. Coordinate with medical departments, other schools, and central development for effective collaboration. Develop in-depth knowledge of departmental needs and document all contacts and proposals in Raisers Edge. Demonstrate progress toward campaign or project goals and meet departmental fundraising targets. Manage active prospects and proposals, adhering to university policies and safeguarding assets. Core Qualifications Bachelors degree in relevant field required. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required. Knowledge of fundraising practices and proficiency in office and donor management software. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
