This role requires deep integration with the Machine Shop Manager, Planning team, and CNC Programmers to align production schedules with customer demands, machine capacity, and operational efficiency. The Master Scheduler will drive operational excellence by balancing workloads, optimizing machine utilization, and proactively resolving scheduling conflicts to meet production goals. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed production schedules for all machine shop operations, ensuring optimal utilization of CNC machines, manual machines, and other equipment while meeting OTD targets. On-Time Delivery (OTD): Monitor and report OTD metrics, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks or delays to ensure customer commitments are met. Collaboration: Work closely with the Machine Shop Manager, Planning team, and CNC Programmers to align schedules with production priorities, material availability, and programming requirements. Capacity Planning: Analyze machine and labor capacity to balance workloads, prioritize jobs, and accommodate rush orders or unexpected changes in demand. Schedule Optimization: Continuously improve scheduling processes to maximize throughput, minimize downtime, and reduce lead times. Conflict Resolution: Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, such as machine availability, tooling constraints, or personnel shortages, in coordination with relevant teams. Data Management: Maintain accurate scheduling data in ERP/MRP systems, ensuring real-time updates and alignment with production plans. Communication: Provide clear and timely communication to stakeholders regarding schedule changes, production status, and potential risks. Continuous Improvement: Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and process improvements to enhance scheduling efficiency and shop floor productivity. Reporting: Generate and analyze reports on production performance, OTD metrics, and schedule adherence to support data-driven decision-making. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelors degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience in manufacturing scheduling considered. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production scheduling, preferably in a machine shop or manufacturing environment with CNC operations. Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Epicor, Oracle, or similar) and scheduling software. Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and production workflows.
