Warehouse Specialist
JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services. The Warehouse Specialist handles the day to day assigned warehouse functions. This position is responsible for timely and accurate distribution of inbound and outbound freight, special projects and communications with other departments as defined by the Warehouse Manager. Essential Functions:
Verify shipments for accuracy and document discrepancies to uphold high-quality customer service. Address shipment overages or shortages promptly and efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized warehouse, adhering to all safety guidelines. Operate warehouse equipment as needed to meet daily schedules. Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations. Follow forklift fleet procedures and schedule preventative maintenance. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to escalate issues to management efficiently. Dependable work ethic, adhering to assigned schedules and company expectations. Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Detail-oriented, with the ability to complete tasks accurately and on time. Ability to operate basic hand tools and small electric tools. Strong safety record and adherence to safety protocols. Positive and professional interaction with colleagues and supervisors. Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED. Minimum of two years of warehouse operations experience. Knowledge of forklift and material handling equipment operations. Work Environment:
100% warehouse environment with varying temperatures and moderate to loud noise levels (e.g., forklifts, horns, trucks). Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and reach. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, and crouch. Ability to lift or exert force up to 25 pounds.
