Modeling and providing excellent, professional customer service Accurately and efficiently scanning and keying items into the register Receiving and processing all payments according to PCC standards Performing basic math skills and proficiency at 10-key Communicating effectively about PCC's membership and programs Handling merchandise returns in a friendly manner Bagging groceries according to PCC bagging guidelines Maintaining orderly appearance of register area Ensuring that department sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards are met When acting in the PIC capacity, supervising the front end and overseeing entire store, ensuring that all PCC policies and procedures are followed Handling security issues carefully and responsibly Protecting the safety of staff and customers and the security of PCC property Handling daily use and any problems with equipment properly and ensuring adherence to store standards Ensuring department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met Qualifications and Skills
Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service Available to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends Ability to operate an electronic register Must demonstrate basic math skills, ability to handle money accurately, and proficient at 10-key Excellent attention to detail, multitasking skills and organizational skills required Previous retail or public customer contact experience desired; background in cashiering and retail grocery industry preferred Must be able to meet physical demands of position including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion and lifting 10-40 lbs Excellent leadership, teambuilding, and communication skills A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required If hired into this role, a CPR/First Aid Certification is required (paid for by PCC) Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits and Perks
