The Robotic Surgical Technologies Business Unit set the standard for Robotically Assisted Surgery (RAS) by creating innovative surgical products and services that focus on surgical procedures of diseases and conditions. We're working a minimum of 4 days a week onsite as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary. You will: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of GUI Verification Engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and technical excellence. Lead Communities of Practice focused on software verification best practices, test automation strategies, and emerging technologies relevant to medical device software. Champion and implement Lean-Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles and practices within the software verification lifecycle, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of high-quality software. Drive the adoption and continuous improvement of software test automation frameworks and tools, maximizing test coverage and efficiency. Ensure all software verification activities adhere to relevant medical device regulations (e.g., FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, IEC 62304) and internal quality management system procedures. Collaborate cross-functionally with software development, systems engineering, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs teams to ensure seamless integration and verification of software components. Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and project planning to provide early feedback on software design and testability. Contribute to the strategic planning and continuous improvement of the overall software development and verification processes. Must Have: Bachelors Degree and minimum of 5 years relevant experience or Advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience. 2+ years in a leadership or management role. Demonstrated expertise in software test automation, including strategy, design, and implementation. Strong proficiency in Python programming for test automation, scripting, and tool development. Proven experience working in a regulated industry. Experience in developing and leading software Communities of Practice. Familiarity with Lean principles and their application in software development and testing. Nice to Have: Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other agile methodologies. Prior experience with complex medical device software systems, particularly in robotics. Experience in designing, building, or maintaining an automation test framework. Direct experience managing software teams, including hiring, performance management, and career development. Experience in medical software regulation such as (ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820). Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $150,400.00 - $225,600.00. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
