Mass General Brigham Salem Hospital Psychiatry service includes 120 inpatient beds, child and adult PHPs, Neurodevelopment, IOP, and three very busy outpatient clinics. There is an extensive and full psychiatric service covering all levels of psychiatric care. MGB Salem qualifies for the federally sponsored loan forgiveness programs. MGB Salem Hospital is a member of the Mass General Brigham network that includes MGH, Brigham and Women's, McLean, and other MGB institutions. Under the direction of the Sr. Mental Health Specialist and Nurse Director, the Mental Health Specialist (MHS) performs direct care to patients within the inpatient psychiatric units at MGB Salem Hospital. Responsibilities include providing effective mental health intervention to assigned patients, coordinating individual cases with the multidisciplinary team and the completion of related documentation to promote the recovery of patients. This individual represents Salem Hospital in a professional manner while adhering to and enforcing all Mass General Brigham & Salem Hospital policies and guidelines as well as federal regulations and program requirements. Qualifications: High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent. Will accept 5+ years of related experience in lieu of high school diploma/G.E.D. Bachelor's degree preferred or actively working towards or completion of a related Bachelor's Degree program in Behavioral Health or Human Services. Requires successful completion of restraint and de-escalation training required within 30 days of hire, and annually. Requires successful completion of AVADE Training.
