Project Accountant Position in Chicago

This Senior Project Accountant position comes with the opportunity for progression into a management/leadership role. Senior Project Accountant responsibilities:
Project Financial Management: Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting. Track project costs, ensuring accurate cost allocation and variance analysis. Prepare and review
Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules
to ensure proper revenue recognition. Billing & Compliance: Generate and submit
AIA billing, progress billings, and lien waivers
(if construction-related). Ensure compliance with
contract terms, purchase orders, and change orders
. Handle subcontractor/vendor payments and verify invoices against project budgets. Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with project managers, finance teams, and leadership to provide financial insights. Prepare and analyze project profitability reports, job cost reports, and cash flow statements. Support month-end close processes, including
reconciliations of project accounts
