General Laborer/Kiln Car Repair

About the Position: We have opportunities for Kiln Car Repair Laborer to join the Pittsburgh team, This is a physical an hand's on position repairing and rebuilding Kiln Cars for Production. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain regular program of kiln car maintenance. Perform all major rebuilds of kiln cars. Rebuilds to be scheduled based on the condition and needs of the cars. Inspect all kiln cars daily looking for damage. Repair as required. Repair kiln car decks and structure to include repairs to framework. Assist Kiln Car Clean Up person with major in service repairs. Maintain functional car to car seal framework. Assist in maintaining kiln car refractory and spare parts inventory. Take part in developing improvements in kiln cars and related areas of the plant. Complete maintenance log and turn in weekly to Kiln Supervisor. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES Ability to physically handle kiln car deck block and kiln car wheels. Cutting and welding skills. The ability to understand basic blueprints. The ability to organize and maintain accurate inventory counts. Willingness to work aggressively with only general supervision. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma, G.E.D., or plant experience. Willingness to work a rotating work schedule and overtime as required.
