Adjunct Instructors For Health Informatics And Health Information Management
The School of Healthcare Business and Technology seeks adjunct instructors to develop and teach health informatics and health information management courses in the BS in Health Information Management program. The courses are taught at the undergraduate level and delivered in person in Boston. The courses are geared toward undergraduate students entering health informatics and information management, particularly in technology-rich organizations. The BS in Health Information Management focuses on applying health informatics and managerial decision-making for health and life sciences organizations. The incumbent will provide subject matter expertise and real-world examples to guide the course outline development and the relevant course development process. The course delivery is intended to follow a problem-based and active learning approach. This position requires teaching online and on-campus in Boston. Responsibilities include: Providing expertise in developing and delivering course content in health informatics and information management, coding, and other related content areas for life sciences and health technology. Working with the Dean, Program Director, and the assigned instructional support contact to develop graduate courses for academic credit. Developing informatics and information management course content with a problem-based approach, providing a detailed breakdown of lessons and assignments, including rubrics. Guiding the content development to cover in each lesson. Review existing course content (if available) and recommend adaptations, changes, and updates. Working with the Dean, Program Director, and instructional support to develop content (videos, discussion boards, quizzes, live sessions, exams) as needed. Designing content for engaging sessions utilizing active learning and problem-based learning. Recording lectures in class, presenting remotely or in a studio on the Boston campus. Determining the key learning concepts that need to be assessed and suggesting practical and scalable assessment methods in line with the program assessment outline. Drafting content for assessments corresponding to lessons/modules and cumulative assessments. Ensuring the course meets the high-quality standards of other MCPHS online and on-campus courses. Recommending approaches for assignments and exams that ensure academic integrity and enable the course to scale in terms of enrollment. Identifying tactics to improve the course based on feedback from students, and course evaluations. The supervisor may assign additional responsibilities.
