Adjunct Instructor Sculpture
Brookdale Community College seeks a qualified adjunct instructor to teach Sculpture for the Fall 2025 semester. This course introduces students to the fundamentals of three-dimensional artmaking, emphasizing exploration of form, materials, and techniques within a contemporary context. Responsibilities
Introduce students to a range of sculpture techniques, tools, and materials, including traditional and non-traditional approaches. Provide foundational instruction in 3D concepts, including form, space, volume, and composition. Introduce concepts of sculptural form and aesthetics, connecting historical and contemporary sculptural practices. Ensure and enforce studio safety procedures when working with tools and equipment. Develop a course syllabus addendum aligned with department standards, including objectives, outcomes, and grading criteria. Hold office hours to support students outside of class. Qualifications
Education: Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Sculpture. Experience: Relevant experience and expertise in sculpture processes and techniques. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to effectively teach fundamental 3D concepts and the safe use of relevant tools and materials. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to teaching excellence. Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations
Prior teaching experience at the community college level. Experience with diverse student populations. Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities. Application Documents
