Brookdale Community College seeks a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Jewelry 1 for the Fall 2025 semester. This course introduces students to fundamental jewelry fabrication techniques and design principles. Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver lectures, demonstrations, and studio instruction in jewelry making. Develop a course syllabus addendum aligned with department standards, including objectives, outcomes, and grading criteria. Cover metal fabrication techniques, such as sawing, filing, soldering, texturing, and forming. Introduce the safe use of jewelry studio tools and equipment. Hold office hours to support students outside of class. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: MFA degree with a concentration in metalsmithing or jewelry or demonstrated professional craft experience combined with prior experience teaching at the college level. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to teaching excellence. Preferred Qualifications: Prior teaching experience at the community college level. Experience with diverse student populations. Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities. Application Documents
