Position: Executive Director
of the Daviess County, Indiana Tourism Commission
Position Overview
The Executive Director of the Daviess County Tourism Commission is a visionary leader responsible for:
* Spearhead efforts to prepare annual and long-term strategic plans.
Specifically, develop a strategic marketing plan to create awareness of Daviess County events and attractions. * Develop an annual tourism work plan to achieve the goals of the strategic plan. * Implement the tourism work plan. This role involves promoting Daviess County as a premier destination for travelers, enhancing visitor experiences, and fostering economic growth through tourism. The Executive Director will work closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, local businesses, and community organizations, to achieve the Tourism Commission's goals. Key Responsibilities * Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a long-term strategic plan that positions the Daviess County as a top tourist destination. Set clear goals and objectives to drive tourism growth and enhance the visitor experience. * Marketing and Promotion: Oversee the creation and management of marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, social media, print, and public relations, to attract visitors and increase brand awareness. * Community and Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, government officials, and community organizations. Serve as the primary liaison between the Tourism Commission and external partners. * Financial Management: Develop and manage the Commission's budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability. Identify and pursue funding opportunities, grants, and partnerships to support Commission activities. * Team Leadership and Development: Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of Tourism Commission members. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and excellence. * Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and analyze tourism trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. Utilize data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions. * Event Planning and Coordination: Oversee the marketing of events, conventions, and festivals that attract visitors to the region. Ensure all events align with the Commission's strategic objectives.
