About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Business and Legal Affairs with a focus on scripted and non-scripted productions. The successful candidate will be a strategic business partner to production executives and creatives, leading the identification and resolution of business and legal opportunities and issues. This role involves negotiating a variety of agreements, providing counsel on deal structures, and managing day-to-day business and legal affairs for the company's production entities. The VP will also be responsible for maintaining relationships with talent agencies and managers, advising on complex business and legal matters, and supporting the company's streaming strategy.
Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years of combined television business affairs and/or legal affairs experience, with a strong emphasis on productions in the US, LATAM, and Spain. A J.D. from an accredited US law school, current bar membership, and Spanish language skills are required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic negotiations, strong leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of the television industry. They should be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and possess superior drafting, negotiation, organizational, and time management skills. The role demands a self-starter with the ability to operate in a dynamic setting and communicate effectively with network executives.
