Boca Raton, FL. Serves as a staff member for OIT: Client Computing within OIT: Enterprise Support and Client Engagement. Receives incoming requests and tasks from the Assistant Director, Client Computing, and researches to resolve or expedite the resolution of computer problems. The Client Computing Engineer will play a key role in managing and supporting endpoint devices across the university, with a strong focus on Microsoft Intune and modern device management. The Client Computing Engineer ensures secure, efficient, and user-friendly computing environments for faculty, staff, and students. Summary of Responsibilities includes: Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of client computing devices, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring timely resolution. Manage software installations, updates, and patches to ensure compliance and optimal performance. Administer and support Microsoft SCCM, Intune, JAMF, GPOs, and Entra and Active Directory. Implement and maintain security measures to protect client computing devices from threats and vulnerabilities. Troubleshoots client network and server infrastructure related to MDM, client software, global policies, Endpoint Protection and Response (EDR), etc. Maintain and enhance the software application store for self-service software deployment. Build and manage software packages for automated deployment. Maintain accurate documentation of client computing configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Develop procedures within the department to streamline operations. Work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and support of client computing devices within the broader IT infrastructure. Provide training and guidance to end-users on best practices for using client computing devices and software. Maintain and enhance technical expertise level by keeping current with industry standards and technical trends. Demonstrate the ability to learn new tools and platforms independently.
