Assistant Director
to help lead our dedicated team.
Position Summary: The Assistant Director supports the overall operation of the center in partnership with the Executive Director. This includes direct oversight of curriculum implementation, VPK compliance, staff development, and data-driven reporting. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who brings both administrative skill and a passion for early learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with VPK guidelines and maintain documentation and reporting in accordance with state requirements
Support development, implementation, and monitoring of curriculum across all classrooms
Provide guidance, support, and supervision to teaching staff, including coaching and professional development
Monitor classroom quality and learning outcomes through regular observations and data reviews
Assist with enrollment, family engagement, and daily operations of the center
Coordinate assessments and analyze child development and learning data to support continuous improvement
Maintain records and reports for licensing, accreditation, and grant compliance
Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role
Strong understanding of VPK program requirements and early learning standards
Experience in curriculum planning and implementation, particularly Creative Curriculum or similar models
Knowledge of CLASS, Teaching Strategies GOLD, or other child assessment tools preferred
Proficiency in data collection and reporting systems
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
