Adjunct Instructor Position

Ivy Tech Evansville seeks a qualified adjunct instructor to join our Nursing School to assist in teaching to the next generation of nurses in the vital work they do and provide instruction (classes, labs, and clinicals) within the program. They assist academic administrators with curriculum development, student advising, program enrollment; provide institutional support and community service. Fully supports the College's mission and strategic plan initiatives. With a passion for patients and for teaching, our Registered Nurse adjunct faculty provide the real work experience that allow Ivy Tech to be the largest provider of associates-level nurses in the nation. Our graduates are prepared for work in hospitals, nursing and residential care facilities, home health care, physician offices, schools, health departments, and more. Major Responsibilities

Candidates considered for adjunct positions under this posting must be able to provide instruction in person at the Evansville, IN campus. Program Operation

Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes. Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements. Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook. Submits requested information within established timelines. Students

Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance. Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues. Instruction

Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology such as Blackboard, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate. In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair. Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Promote same as an integral part of one's work. $45.00 per contact hour (approximately $2,160 per 8-week course). Work Hours

This role will run on weekdays starting in the fall term beginning on August 25, 2025. Specific hours will depend on classes assigned but may include evenings. Benefits

Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse, and a current, unencumbered Indiana Registered Nurse license. Possesses an earned master's degree in nursing, or Bachelor's degrees in nursing with all of the following requirements met: Within one semester of initial hire, must have a written academic plan of study for completion of a Master's degree in nursing, and provides ongoing documentation (each semester) demonstrating progression towards completion of a Master's degree in nursing. Continued employment of a person who does not hold a Master's degree in nursing shall be contingent upon documented progress towards their approved academic plan.
