Manufacturing Superintendent

The Manufacturing Superintendent oversees the manufacturing processes of the Engineering Coating Technologies (ECT) and Ceramics, Powders, Shapes (CPS) areas of the Strongsville Ceramics facility. Working in a continuous shift rotation with three other superintendents, this role ensures 24/7/365 coverage. Responsibilities include supervising operations employees in a unionized environment, ensuring safety, maintaining product quality, managing delivery schedules, controlling product costs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Provide leadership, direct supervision and scheduling guidance to the Operations team in support of Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery and Organizational Development initiatives. Lead identification, mitigation, and elimination of safety exposures and ensure EHS compliance and improvement. Drive continuous improvement in areas of safety, product quality, product delivery, scheduling and product cost through the analysis of plant data and collaboration with the Operations team. Interact with vendors for project implementation and proposals, as needed. Lead and assist in the development and sustainability of 5S. Assist in the sustainability of stable operations and a Continuous Improvement culture through leadership, training and collaboration with internal and external resources. Drive consistent practices across Strongsville site, ensuring employee concerns are raised and addressed in a timely manner. Ensure operational excellence and productivity standards are met by all members of the team; ensure production schedules remain on-track to ensure on-time delivery in full. Follow all established procedures and processes to ensure streamlined operations within the facility, providing guidance to employees as needed on routine processes. Basic Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience with 3 years in a leadership role Minimum of 3 years experience working in a union environment Excellent written and oral communication skills Demonstrated team contribution and leadership skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management or related field 5 or more years of leadership in a union manufacturing environment Prior experience with SAP or similar ERP system Proficiency in Project Management and Root Cause Analysis Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Travel Requirements None Our Manufacturing Superintendent will earn a variable compensation including base salary and bonus. Base salary range takes into consideration experience, education, and training. Not to mention all the amazing benefits available for employee selection as well.
