Field Engineer Opportunity
The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 depending upon experience. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future. construction package one (CP-1). TPZP is seeking a Field Engineer for the project office in Fresno, CA. About California High Speed Rail- CP1 The California High-Speed Rail Authority's Construction Package 1 (CP1) is the first significant construction contract executed on the Initial Operating Section of the High-Speed Rail project in California's Central Valley. The CP1 construction area is a 32-mile stretch between Avenue 19 in Madera County to East American Avenue in Fresno County, including major work elements in downtown Fresno. It includes 12 roadway/railroad grade separations, two mainline viaducts, one tunnel, realignments of existing railroad tracks, utility relocations, roadway relocations, two trench sections, and a major river crossing over the San Joaquin River. Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional Talent As a Field Engineer at TPZP JV, reporting to the Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to: Review project plans and develop a construction schedule in coordination with project-wide activities. Coordinate with subcontractors on advance material acquisitions and pre-construction deliverables. Develop/assist with obtaining quotes and draft contracts to meet project requirements. Prepare construction work plan packages and coordinate pre-construction meetings while ensuring that all prerequisites to start construction activities are identified and completed. Prepare, update and distribute work activity schedules/updates, and communicate across discipline groups and agencies to ensure proper advance notifications and coordination of start times. Monitor and participate daily in the field construction process. Provides layout checks and technical reviews of work against requirements. Obtains confirmations from design engineer as needed. Assist with subcontract administration and permanent material suppliers through monitoring of correspondence, submittals, RFI's, and performance records; Maintains accurate payment records. Assist in preparing monthly reporting for progress payments, schedule updates, and problem/issue tracking and resolution. Provides accurate and factual assessments of project performance. Participate in change orders and claims management. Develop and manage relationships with owners, subcontractors, consultants and field personnel. Maintain a safe, clean and productive environment through enforcing procedures. Maintain project integrity and reputation through compliance with high standards of workplace safety and construction best practices. Identify and resolves changing site conditions or other impacts during planning of the work. Coordinate-and attend pre-bid and construction meetings. Develop quality checks and coordinate permits from appropriate entities. Assist in preparing crossing applications and work plans, assuring quality control, etc. by subcontractor. Manage and submits project close-out in coordination with the client and third parties. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited institution. 5 or more years of experience on Heavy Civil projects. Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA Requirements. Project controls techniques (i.e. cost accounting, basic estimating, forecasting, and contracts). A strong working knowledge of critical path method, resource scheduling is preferred. Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera P6 is a plus. Strong organizational and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies. Strong work ethic - Highly motivated and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
