How You Will Make an Impact (Job Summary)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the development of mobile robotic systems for pipe inspection and repair. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, analyzing, and optimizing the mechanical systems and components working with other engineering disciplines such as electrical, firmware, software and labs. Ideal candidates will apply interdisciplinary knowledge to create innovative solutions for electromechanical systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, purchasing, customer service and quality assurance, to ensure the successful development and launch of high-quality products. In addition, you will design, test, and develop product and product components following company and industry standards while assisting in the supervision of laboratory activities for assigned projects. What We Are Looking For (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically in the design and development of robotics, automation, AGVs, drones, and/or cameras. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) for 3D modeling. Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining processes, molding, and casting. Working knowledge of GD&T and experience generating engineering documentation. Extensive machine design experience including power transmission, sealing, and mechatronics packaging. Experience working on interdisciplinary teams who develop electromechanical systems and basic understanding of electrical engineering principals and software development processes. Familiarity with regulatory approval agency requirements, including UL, ANSI, ISO, and/or CSA. Working knowledge of project management principles and experience in product lifecycle management. Strong understanding of electromechanical mechanisms and controls in automation. Experience with Finite Element Analysis, design for manufacturing/assembly, design for reliability and relevant hand calculations. Experience working on stage gate new product development and sustaining engineering. Some level of controls programming and electronics skill preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of ERP systems, such as IFS, and product lifecycle management systems, such as PDM Pro, is a plus.
