Primary Care APP (NP/PA)
Focus on Acute Care & Occupational Medicine - Oxford, NC
Certification: Board certified FNP or PA-C; DOT-certified (or willing to obtain)
Key Responsibilities
Acute Care:
•Evaluate and treat acute illnesses, injuries, and infections
•Develop treatment plans and manage medications
•Provide emergency care advice and follow-up instructions
Occupational Medicine:
•Perform pre-employment and periodic health exams (including DOT and fitness-for-duty)
•Manage work-related injuries and coordinate return-to-work plans
•Support health/safety programs and ensure regulatory compliance
Patient Care & Communication:
•Maintain accurate documentation in EHR
•Educate patients on acute and occupational health conditions
•Collaborate with primary care and specialty providers
Administrative Duties:
•Ensure regulatory compliance in both clinical areas
•Participate in quality improvement and clinical guideline development
•Maintain secure, confidential patient records
Professional Development:
•Stay current on best practices in acute and occupational medicine
•Complete CME and maintain certifications
•Contribute to clinical process improvement
Qualifications
•Education: Master's or Doctoral degree from accredited NP or PA program
•Licensure: Active, unrestricted NC license (APRN or PA-C)
•Certification: Board certified FNP or PA-C; DOT-certified (or willing to obtain)
•Experience: Prior acute care and occupational medicine experience preferred
•Skills:
oProficiency in managing acute medical issues
oStrong communication and independent decision-making skills
oFamiliarity with EHR and telehealth platforms
