Job Responsibilities:- Primarily outpatient-focused with minimal inpatient responsibilities.
- Work Monday-Friday with 9-hour days.
- Care for adult and geriatric patients, with a 50/50 split between hematology and oncology.
- Manage an average of 12-16 patients per day.
- Perform required procedures, including management of VAD/CV Catheters and Intrathecal chemotherapy.
- Participate in Tumor Board meetings, order tests, images, and prescribe treatment plans.
- Work collaboratively with a nurse who administers chemotherapy based on physician orders.
- Provide support for all surgical procedures, excluding transplants.
- Opportunity to educate CRNA students.
- Minimal call at 1:4 by phone only, with 24/7 Hospitalist support for inpatient responsibilities.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology or Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification.
- Iowa medical license or IMLC (or willingness to obtain).
- BLS certification (or willingness to obtain).
- DEA and CDS certifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Active Iowa medical license or ability to obtain.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology or Internal Medicine.
