IPS – AkroFire
is seeking a
Quality Inspector 3 . The position requires knowledge in the area of general inspection methods and procedures and a complete understanding of blueprint reading, specification interpretation, and the use of inspection measuring equipment. Inspectors must possess the skills to interact effectively, diplomatically, and professionally. This position will support various aspects of AkroFire’s Quality Management System ensuring world-class systems and performance through continual focus on process improvement, supplier development and customer interaction. Support a culture of Continuous Improvement and positive Customer Experiences.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Proven capability to work directly with departmental groups to create and maintain weekly management reports to highlight key quality issues that require action.
Proven capability at developing and implementing specialized tests and measurements on a wide variety of inspection equipment such as vision systems.
Accomplished at independently driving the creation and maintenance of Access database systems to provide specific information to identify root cause issues that can be used to reduce overall scrap rates and reduce in-process inspection rejection rates.
Receiving Inspection duties for both purchased and Customer supplied product,
Perform In-Process Inspection when called upon,
Handle all aspects of final inspection including:
Review of paperwork to ensure that all necessary documentation is included and complete
Inspection of the actual finished product per published company procedures and standards
Signing certifications
Maintain all Inspection records as required
Perform First Article Inspection
Customer source inspection duties
Monitor the QA workload and perform inspection duties prioritized by due date.
Review AkroFire’s purchase orders for S.Q.R. requirements.
Drive key quality performance metrics: DPPM, OTD, Cost of Quality, Customer Scorecards, Internal Audit Risk and Effectiveness, Supplier Performance, Contract Review.
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.
MUST be able to work weekends and overtime
Receiving inspection in accordance with D1-4426
In-process inspection of rubber components
First article inspection in accordance with AS9102
Final inspection for rubber components
Job Specifications:
Education : Requires a High School Diploma/GED or combination of relevant education and work experience may be substituted to meet educational requirements only.
Years' Experience:
Two (2) plus years working in an aerospace inspection environment
Skills:
Ability to read and understand Blueprints, specifications, and inspection instructions
Ability to understand and use standard inspection tools
Two plus years working experience in an aerospace inspection environment
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Effective verbal and written communication in English . Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Thorough follow-through and attention to details
Work under deadline oriented environment
Maintain working knowledge of company products and services
Software proficiency
Microsoft Great Plains ERP system is a plus
Capable of operating necessary inspection and testing equipment
Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs.
