Senior Manager, US Medical Affairs for Migraine
The Senior Manager, US Medical Affairs for Migraine will provide support for the US Migraine Medical strategy to achieve short- and long-term Medical objectives in alignment with the overall business strategy. The incumbent is an integral member of the US Medical team, supporting ongoing and new Medical initiatives to enable productive internal cross-functional and external professional partnerships. The role involves developing appropriate collaborations externally to strengthen Medical networks and promote scientific data generation. The position also focuses on Hemophilia-focused Medical communications and supports the US Medical Affairs operating plan while putting the patient first within the spectrum of the Pfizer Core Values and Behaviors. Role Responsibilities: Supports the development and execution of US medical strategies and tactics in support of the migraine portfolio. Collaborates with cross-functional colleagues from commercial, field medical, HEOR, digital, US medical information and relevant internal colleagues to enhance and deliver upon US medical plan(s). Participates and supports the review of promotional and non-promotional materials (i.e. the US review committee (RC)); within RC, partners with legal, regulatory, and marketing colleagues to ensure compliant, accurate and high-quality content of promotional and non-promotional materials. Serves as a reliable and trusted source of accurate scientific knowledge of the data, disease state, product label, and competitive data. Serves as needed as a Medical Affairs reviewer for MRC (Medical Review Committee). Supports data generation/analyses, ensures medical and scientific accuracy of manuscripts and abstracts/posters, and the publication and congress planning processes(s). Supports the customer insights process and the importance of customer insights, track competitive intelligence relevant to Migraine, participate in planning and execution of Advisory Boards (when needed) to gather expert advice on medical planning. Supports medical education grants, including development of requests for proposals (RFPs), and providing scientifically critical review and management of proposed and ongoing grants. As needed, supports POAs and Sales training needs through partnership in developing materials and provide expert medical presentations and education. Support development of training modules. Manages headquarters-led advisory boards, including advisor identification, contracting and engagement. As needed, partners cross-functionally with FMDs and other customer-facing roles to gather critical feedback to help integrate into strategy development and execution. Initiates and maintains communications with the leadership of professional societies and patient advocacy groups to further Medical objectives. Partners with Medical Information colleagues to provide expert input into Medical Letters and ensure updates as needed. Supports the development of medical content for congresses, symposia, promotional speakers and advisory boards and lead or participate in such activities in full compliance with Pfizer policy. Basic Qualifications: Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact. Applicants must have a master's degree as a Nurse practitioners (NPs) or physician assistants (PAs) and 5+ years of experience; OR a Doctoral degree in clinical/pharmacy specialty (Pharm.D) or Ph.D and 1+ years experience. Medical Affairs experience required; Preferred if it is 2+ years experience. Basic understanding of the drug development process. Basic knowledge of health care economics and its impact on medical decision making. Strong analytical skills. Professional demeanor & excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with external customers /internal colleagues. Customer-oriented approach and ability to work in cross-functional teams. Proven strategic thinking skills and ability to interpret and implement strategic directions. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deal effectively with deadlines. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
