Helix ESG seeks a dynamic and talented Senior Payroll Clerk out of our Houston corporate office. Under the supervision of the Payroll Supervisor, the Senior Payroll Clerk will process payroll for multiple entities on a bi-weekly schedule, including special payrolls. Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Operate Oracle Time & Labor and Oracle Payroll Systems. Process in-house payroll for multiple companies (bi-weekly & special payrolls) using Oracle Payroll. Handle Quick Pays and employee maintenance entries in Oracle. Verify Oracle production mailer for new hires, terminations, and changes. Manage time entry for offshore employees in Oracle Time & Labor (OTL) and verify team members' time entries. Monitor weekly timecard audits and resolve discrepancies. Set up, maintain, and stop child support, garnishments, levies, etc., on employee records within Oracle. Run pre-payroll audit reports and transfer time from OTL into BEE (batch element entry). Execute OT explosion programs, validate, and transfer OTL BEE batches into Oracle Element Entries. Manage BEE entries (adjustments, special pay, etc.), research, prepare, and validate before transfer. Run payroll processes for all companies and payrolls, audit, correct, and rerun as necessary. Perform post-payroll audits and run related reports. Print checks, run NACHA files, and handle bank transfers. Prepare paperwork for tax payments and ensure tax balancing accuracy. Generate final payroll reports for documentation. Manage internal Helix PayrollCorp communications. Verify employment (VOE), conduct research, and respond to verification requests. Handle Sea-time Letters and monitor child support, garnishments, and tax levies. Assist with audit and legal requests, ensuring timely and accurate data provision. Record earnings and tax implications for stock transactions, ensuring compliance. Support offshore shadow payroll processing for locations like Singapore and the UK. Assist with Oracle system upgrades, patches, and documentation. Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reconciliations and reporting. Provide backup support for team members as needed. Ensure proper documentation and secure storage of payroll records. Participate in special projects as required. Education

High School Degree or Equivalent GED. Experience & Skills

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience, with a focus on in-house payroll administration. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Expertise in processing payroll for various employee types, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Deep understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and compliance (FLSA, garnishments, tax withholding). Experience with wage/hour calculations, benefits deductions, adjustments, and complex payroll scenarios like commissions, bonuses, and overtime. Additional Responsibilities

Experience with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and tax filings. Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines during peak periods or year-end. Proven accuracy in managing employee records and maintaining confidentiality.
