UAB Health System recently transitioned to Epic as its new electronic health record (EHR) platform, creating new opportunities within the Health System Information Services (HSIS) team. Work with over 400 professionals dedicated to maintaining secure and efficient IT systems to support quality patient care. UAB Medicine is Alabamas largest single-site employer, operating over 1,200 beds and more than 200 clinics in Birmingham, Alabama, and is a nationally ranked academic medical center. Job Description:
Utilize broad knowledge to guide application team members on strategy, innovation, and collaborative support of Epic. Lead efforts to analyze operational needs, establish requirements and standards, and serve within organizational teams providing insights on technology configurations and process impacts. Promote a secure environment by adhering to IT security policies and participating in annual security training, including HIPAA and FERPA. Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop frameworks for planning, designing, and documenting system functionality and changes. Set standards and best practices to ensure work quality aligns with customer needs. Foster collaboration among stakeholders for system changes and issue resolution. Mitigate systemic risks through build processes, analysis, and performance monitoring. Create roadmaps for system functionality and project timelines. Lead projects across teams to determine suitable technical strategies. Serve as a technical expert on system development, data management, and support. Support quality and patient safety initiatives, aligning with strategic priorities. Build partnerships within the organization, engaging stakeholders to understand requirements and integrating business with technical solutions. Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field required; work experience may substitute. Epic certification in area of support or obtained within 12 weeks of Epic training with no more than two attempts. Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of Resolute HB build and workflows. Epic HB Admin Certification preferred.
