Director, Master of Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies Program Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU) seeks a motivated, experienced leader in healthcare education to serve as the next director of its MS in Physician Assistant Studies program. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in both academic program administration and PA practice. Position Overview As Director of the Master of Science in Physician Assistant program, you will be responsible for the comprehensive leadership of this dynamic healthcare education program launched in fall 2023 and now welcoming its third cohort of students. The NDMU PA program has earned accreditation-provisional from ARC-PA and is now in the midst of a thorough and thoughtful self-study process including site visit (mid-August 2025). The director’s role encompasses planning, development, implementation, organization, administration, evaluation, and ensuring the general effectiveness of our PA program while maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Administration Provide visionary leadership for ongoing program evaluation, curriculum development, and continuous improvement initiatives Supervise and evaluate key program personnel including Medical Director, Academic Director, Clinical Director, principal faculty, instructional faculty, and support staff Lead department-wide strategic planning and assessment processes Manage all organizational and administrative aspects of the PA program Achieve and maintain ARC-PA accreditation standards Foster a climate of academic excellence that supports student, faculty, and staff success Ensure program compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements Student Services & Academic Leadership Organize and lead comprehensive admission processes, including recruitment, selection, and matriculation activities Provide mentorship and academic advising to students, serving as mediator for academic issues when necessary Contribute to curriculum instruction as appropriate Faculty Development & External Relations Guide and support faculty in pursuing professional development opportunities to advance their instructional and administrative capabilities Represent the program to various professional, clinical, and academic constituencies Collaborate effectively with university academic support services Allocate and monitor annual program budgets Qualifications Master's degree required; Doctorate preferred NCCPA certification and eligibility for Maryland licensure with board certification Minimum three years of clinical experience as a practicing physician assistant Minimum two years of experience in academic administration. Previous experience as a PA Program Director preferred. Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills Strong planning, administrative, and organizational capabilities Demonstrated ability to establish relationships with local, regional, and national professional organizations
