Job Description As Gwinnetts diverse population continues to grow, we need to attract and support redevelopment and new development that builds connected communities, creates job opportunities, and promotes housing affordability. The Development Projects Manager will help guide large-scale and strategically important development projects through the zoning, plan review, permitting, and inspections process. This position will work in the Directors Office and coordinate with team members across all nine divisions of Planning and Development and other departments to ensure the success of assigned projects. The role also involves interfacing directly with developers, design professionals, contractors, and residents to obtain project updates and resolve issues. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in making Gwinnett a sustainable, inclusive, and connected community that is highly desirable to live, work, and do business in. Essential Duties Track major economic development and sensitive projects, escalating issues promptly. Meet regularly with case managers to discuss project status. Review suggestions, concerns, and complaints from various departments, the County Administrators Office, and the Board of Commissioners, ensuring prompt follow-up and resolution. Draft and send status reports, updates, and emails regarding ongoing projects or issues. Review department data and prepare summary reports. Conduct policy research and analysis, making recommendations on potential policy changes. Develop reports, presentations, ordinance amendments, RFPs, and other documents as needed. Manage special projects as assigned. Public Speaking Duties Leading internal and external meetings. Grade The grade for this position is 104. Salary depends on education and experience. Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, Planning, or related field AND Three years of related experience.
