This role requires a dynamic, strategic thinker who can translate high-level goals into tactical marketing plans, collaborate with cross-functional leaders, and manage a regional marketing team. The Director of Marketing will evaluate marketing performance, optimize programs, and continuously refine approaches to align with business objectives. This position is regionally based and requires travel to support site openings, market readiness, and community engagement efforts.
Site-Level Support
Partner with operations and brand leaders to evaluate the marketing readiness of each site and tailor support accordingly Oversee the development and execution of marketing strategies for de novo and M&A site openings Drive localized, grassroots, and neighborhood marketing efforts including public relations (PR), media, sponsorships, and community involvement Maintain alignment with Spotless Brands’ marketing standards and enforce brand integrity across sites
Marketing Leadership & Planning
Lead the development of brand-specific regional marketing plans with clear goals for revenue, membership, volume, ROI, and loyalty Set priorities and goals for regional brands in collaboration with brand, department, and functional leaders Manage and direct the regional marketing team, ensuring clarity, consistency, and accountability in execution Oversee and allocate regional marketing budgets effectively
Operations & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as a strategic business partner to operations leaders, aligning marketing plans with operational performance and goals Evaluate and report on marketing program effectiveness and influence improvements in tools, systems, and processes Collaborate with the greater marketing team to share insights and best practices across regions
Team Development
Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop high-performing Field Marketing Specialists (also known as Area Leaders of Marketing) Set clear performance expectations and coach team members to deliver strong outcomes Foster a collaborative, culturally aligned, and results-driven team environment
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Marketing, Communication, or related field strongly preferred Minimum of 7 years of progressive marketing experience with a focus on field or multi-unit retail environments Experience in a trade area-based marketing role with planning and execution responsibilities Proven experience working with media and sponsorships, including contract negotiation and performance assessment Valid driver’s license required Must live in or be willing to relocate to assigned market
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Deep expertise in core marketing principles, grassroots marketing, and brand positioning Understanding of field marketing strategies in high-growth, multi-site retail or service industries Financial and operational acumen in evaluating ROI and campaign effectiveness Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously Creative thinker with the ability to translate strategic vision into actionable plans Proficiency in managing external partnerships and agency relationships Ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels and functions Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams Self-starter with strong decision-making and analytical skills
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer Ability to travel frequently (30-50%) within the assigned region for site visits, events, and leadership meetings Occasional light lifting of marketing materials or supplies may be required Ability to participate in marketing activations or community events, which may require standing for extended periods of time
