WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Associate Director, Data Policy Governance role is part of RBCs Enterprise Information Management Risk team within RBCs Group Risk Management. This role supports the Data Policy Governance lead in managing data-related policies and conducting adherence reviews. WHAT WILL YOU DO? Support the development and maintenance of data-related frameworks, policies, and standards for governing the firms data. Ensure alignment of data frameworks, policies, and standards with enterprise and operational risk management frameworks. Maintain an inventory of data-related regulations, communications, and audit findings to ensure policy comprehensiveness. Develop methodologies for monitoring policy compliance. Contribute to US regional reporting on data risks and key risk indicators. Participate in forums discussing policy adoption, exception requests, and risk acceptances. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? Must have: Undergraduate degree with experience in second-line governance or compliance management related to data in financial services or a regulated industry. Experience in developing and implementing data management frameworks, policies, and standards for large organizations. Regulatory research and analysis experience. Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation abilities. Ability to identify stakeholder information and communication needs. Nice-to-have: Experience in a matrix environment within a large, publicly traded company. Strategic thinking and excellent interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration. Effective time management and adaptability to changing priorities. Knowledge of data, privacy, compliance, and regulatory risk management in financial services or similar industries.
