Description
The 3D Printing Process team at Align Technology is looking for an Associate Process Technician- Contractor at the San Jose, CA, location. The Associate Process Technician- Contractor will help setup and execute process-development based experiments with novel materials and novel manufacturing processes for R&D products. This is an in-person job opportunity with > 90% time spent on in-lab manufacturing activities. Key Responsibilities
Operate new additive manufacturing equipment Operate post processing equipment Vary, observe and report influence of printing/ post processing parameters on the quality of the fabricated objects. Study existing manufacturing workflow and suggest and work on improvements to the same Perform material testing using standard and non-standard material testing equipment Maintain records, follow and maintain work instructions, and ensure standards of safety and quality Manage print queue by communicating with cross-functional teams. Learn to troubleshoot and solve problems using systematic problem solving strategies. Support testing of new printing and post processing equipment. Read, understand and support execution of equipment installation and qualification Support quality inspection of manufactured appliances Support repair activities on equipment. Work closely with team members to execute process experiments.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
High School diploma or equivalent. STEM related educational background preferred. 2-3 years experience as a technician in operating SLA/ Resin based 3D printing machines or equivalent experience with 3D printing. Experience handling and working with chemicals such as Iso propyl alcohol, photopolymers, cleaning agents. Experience in post processing 3D printed parts Experience using metrology instruments such as micrometers and calipers. Experience using Microsoft office tools such as word, excel and powerpoint or similar productivity tools. Experience collaborating with cross functional teams. Ability to lift and manipulate equipment or fixtures weighing upto 10 lbs. Willingness to occasionally work overtime to support critical deliveries and deadlines. Optional: Experience managing print queues.
Pay Transparency
If provided, base salary or wage rate ranges are the range in which Align reasonably expects to set a candidate’s pay for the posted position. Actual placement depends on the individual skills and experience level of a candidate plus the total compensation and equity across team members. For other locations outside of the primary location, the base salary range will be adjusted geographically.
For Field Sales roles, the salary listed is the base pay only and does not include the applicable incentive compensation plan. A cost of living adjustment may be added to base pay for higher cost areas in the U.S.
