Summary The Facilities Low Voltage Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of preventive maintenance, repair, and low-voltage installation tasks across multiple facilities. This role includes general building upkeep, such as plumbing, electrical, and structural repairs. As well as supporting the IT department with low-voltage projects like surveillance systems, access controls, and network installations. Duties and Responsibilities Uses common hand and power tools such as hammers, drills, and wrenches, saws, Testers, HVAC manifolds, soldering tool, cable cutters, meters readers, augers, and any power or manual tool required for the duties assigned. Will work with the IT department to assist them with new installs requiring low voltage background and experience. Magnetic door swipes, surveillance cameras and monitors, PC monitors, cable runs, NEST system installations, trouble shoot, report assessment results to Facilities Manager and IT Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement. Performs routine preventive building maintenance duties. Performs routine plumbing such as fixing water leaks, leaking faucets, and water fountains. Performs routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps and assists in repairing light fixtures. Purchases supplies, equipment and materials necessary to complete projects. Assembles and moves furniture, hangs frames and bulletin boards, moves and sets up tables and chairs. Repairs and replaces doorknobs or locks, repair door closures, patches holes in walls. Paints interior and exterior walls. Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required. Travels to different centers to perform maintenance work as needed. Assists with the
renovation/remodeling
of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structures. Performs outside custodial duties such as sweeping the parking lot twice a day. Performs all duties in an honest, ethical and professional manner. Comply with all company polices. Ensure that all HIPPA/OSHA standards are in compliance. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. At least one (3) years of experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license. Background in electronic engineering Certification in electronic field
Skills: Use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards. Ability to work with individuals within and outside the organization, in professional and courteous manner. Strong ability to use independent judgment and initiative. Resourcefulness in problem solving. Actively look for ways to help people. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Bilingual skills preferred (English/Spanish or English/Creole) Must develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others. Must be knowledgeable of trades related to building maintenance procedures and techniques. Knowledge of machines and tools including their uses, repair and maintenance. Must follow safety practices and recognize hazards. Must be able to read and follow blueprints and assembly instructions.
