Maintenance Facilities Technician-1st shift Location:
Chicago, IL 60632 (near Midway) Hire Type : Contract-to-Hire

Pay Range : $25-$29/hr Hours : Mon-Fri, 7:30am -4pm M-F
Job Summary :
Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on facility equipment (e.g. HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, fire safety systems, doors, eyewash stations, spill stations, etc.) Troubleshoot minor maintenance problems involving electrical, mechanical, structural, plumbing, pipe threading and equipment repair or replacement. Perform routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets, and water fountains. Perform routine electrical PM or minor repairs to HVAC, Generators and/or compactors, as well as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps and assist in repairing ballast and light fixtures. Request to purchase supplies, equipment, and materials as necessary to complete projects. Assembles and moves furniture, hangs pictures and bulletins. Repair and replace doorknobs or locks, repair door closures, patch holes in walls. Paint interior and exterior walls as well as walkways. Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance or repair work of our buildings Ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA, EPA, and local building regulations Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs via CMMS Respond to urgent facility requests in a timely manner Must be able to respond to immediate demands for internal customer needs and acts as the primary contact for all building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies and repairs) Assist with maintaining building security and respond to building emergencies (fencing, doors, locks, windows) Job Duties :
High School diploma or GED required Valid state driver’s license required (for material runs with company vehicle) 3 years min of facilities or building maintenance experience Experience with troubleshooting maintenance issues involving basic electrical, mechanical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repairs HVAC certification preferred but not required Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks including climbing ladders, standing and kneeling for extended periods of time Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or on-call rotations as required Pre-hire requirements: physical, respiratory fit test, audiogram, drug screen, and background check
