Senior Principal Scientist, R&D – Product Development This is a Research and Development Bakery Technology role leading Product Development initiatives within the Snacking Team. The role supports various businesses across our Snacking product lines, including Lunchables, Oscar Mayer Bites, and P3, for the North America Zone. The Senior Principal Scientist is expected to provide leadership and execute projects across categories, demonstrating proven results in complex settings. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, as the environment is dynamic and cross-functional. The position requires managing multiple projects with minimal guidance, exhibiting collaboration and innovation. Key Responsibilities: Lead product development efforts with cross-functional teams to drive multiple projects. Learn new product categories and processing areas as needed. Translate research findings and communicate effectively with teams. Manage product testing and qualification in lab and production settings. Prioritize and manage multiple projects, resolving conflicts as they arise. Mentor and collaborate with colleagues within and outside your team. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related fields; Master’s preferred. Minimum 8+ years in Product Development within a CPG environment, with at least 5 years in Bakery. Strong knowledge of ingredients, processing equipment, and food testing methods. Proven leadership, customer focus, and executional excellence. Self-motivated problem solver with the ability to plan experiments and adapt to hurdles. Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead, coach, motivate, and multi-task effectively. Willingness to travel up to 30%, including domestic and Canadian locations. Our Total Rewards include competitive salary, performance bonuses, comprehensive benefits, and wellbeing programs.
