The Ad Sales Finance team is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the team for addressable ad sales support for Specialized Analysis & Ops Support, reporting to the Manager, Finance. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the newest growth product and segment for the company as DTC ad sales grows on a global scale. The team works closely with DTC Business Operations, Disney Ad Sales Revenue and Yield Management (RYM), Research, and Technology teams to deliver strategic, financial and operational insights and goals of the global DTC ad sales business.
Job Summary:
The DTC Ad Sales Finance team is currently seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Specialized Analysis and Ops Support function. This individual will support a variety of tasks including ad policy analysis, supply analysis, ad platform initiatives and competitive marketplace analytics.
Due to the market-facing nature of our work and our shifting industry landscape on a global scale, a successful candidate will have the aptitude to efficiently execute routine tasks, advance analysis of the business, work cross-functionally, and contribute to key initiatives.
This role relies on critical thinking and the ability to build knowledge of the streaming ad sales business and learn how an ad-supported Direct to Consumer product generates subscribers, inventory, and ad monetization. The ideal candidate will be able to partner with and communicate effectively between business operations, ad sales, technology, and finance organizations. An analytical mindset to derive business insights and recommendations with quantifiable impact is essential in this fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Analyze and evaluate the impact of proposed changes to DTC ad policies and automation initiatives.
Analyze and evaluate the impact of changes to DTC ad supply and conduct competitive marketplace analysis.
Provide ad hoc analysis and support for financial decision-making.
Support and provide insights related to content providers, including Hulu, Disney+, Hulu Live, ESPN, and ABC News.
Develop monthly forecasts, annual operating plans (AOP), and long-term plans for sponsorship, marketing, third-party, and other non-video revenues.
Support BI/reporting initiatives and EPM adoption/implementation.
Required Education, Experience, Skills:
0-2 years of experience in corporate finance or business analytics roles (ad sales experience is a plus but not required).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel formulas for modeling and data analysis.
Strong analytical skills with experience in data tools, managing large data sets, and familiarity with Snowflake or similar databases; knowledge of scripting languages (SQL, Python) is a plus.
Ability to interpret detailed data and communicate insights effectively through concise, visually appealing presentations.
Attention to detail and troubleshooting skills for data discrepancies.
Strong work ethic, curiosity, and proactive problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction across organizational levels.
Entrepreneurial mindset and innovative spirit.
Experience with SAP, COGNOS, or similar financial reporting tools is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.
The hiring range in California is $85,800 - $104,800 annually, with total compensation including bonuses and benefits. Compensation may vary based on experience, location, and other factors.
