Position Overview The med-peds physician will provide comprehensive care to both adult and pediatric patients across a wide spectrum of health conditions, ensuring continuity of care from infancy through adulthood. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in managing a variety of medical issues, fostering long-term relationships with patients and families, and offering patient-centered care,

with opportunities for precepting students. Faculty share responsibilities for night, weekend, and vacation coverage with other members of the group practice and will participate in decisions regarding the practice operation. This position will be housed at a Lone Tree Primary Care clinic operated by the Department of Family Medicine.

The clinician-educator will have opportunity for academic promotion judged on criteria of demonstrated excellence as a clinician/educator/scholar. Clinician-educators are encouraged to collaborate with other faculty in clinical research projects.

Supervision Received: This position reports to the clinic Medical Director and receives support through the General Internal Medicine Associate Division Head for Clinical Affairs.

Supervision Exercised

: This position does not supervise any FTE. Responsibilities: Clinical: Provide primary care services to a diverse patient population from birth through adulthood. Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses in both children and adults. Manage preventive care, including immunizations, screenings, and wellness visits for all age groups. Work collaboratively with other physicians, specialists, nurses, and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with all health regulations and standards. Offer education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans, health maintenance, and lifestyle changes. Participate in after-hours on-call duties as required. Assist in administrative/clinical quality improvement functions relating to a variety of programs at the direction of the medical director.

Teaching and Mentoring: Provide education to medical students during their ambulatory rotation. Assist in supervision of advanced practice providers at the clinic. Professional Development: -Keep abreast of the latest developments in field, both academically and through applied skill. Attend and present at conferences, meetings and trainings in order to maintain certification and enhance professional skills; participate in faculty development activities.

Minimum Qualifications: Faculty rank is dependent upon years of experience, fellowships completed, board certification and candidate's preference on committing to a tenure track.

Non-Tenured Track Instructor: MD or DO degree Board-certified or board-eligible in Med-Peds Valid CO medical license DEA Certification (or eligibility) 0-7 years of primary care experience Senior Instructor: MD or DO degree Board-certified or board-eligible in Med-Peds Valid CO medical license DEA Certification (or eligibility) 8 or more years of primary care experience Tenured Track Assistant Professor: MD or DO degree Board-certified or board-eligible in Med-Peds Valid CO medical license DEA Certification (or eligibility) 0-7 years of primary care experience Associate Professor: MD or DO degree Board-certified or board-eligible in Med-Peds Valid CO medical license DEA Certification (or eligibility) 8 or more years of primary care experience Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a primary care, ambulatory setting. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems, preferably Epic. Experience or interest in education, research and faculty development. Interest or experience in academic medicine, teaching, or mentoring medical students
