General Summary

Responsible for assisting the security, networking, server and support teams in the operations of the network. This position is responsible for network implementation, maintenance, and repair. The role includes monitoring and improving network performance and capacity. Also, responsible for analysis, development, and support of life‐cycle initiatives regarding the network infrastructure. This role will also assist in security tasks such as firewall and security tool management.

Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (internal or external, including donors for select positions) through multiple feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the BBG customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes.

It is essential that the incumbent have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years old with a good driving record to meet organization driving standards.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Tasks

Modify, implement, document, enhance and maintain corporate networks using various Wi-Fi, WAN and LAN technologies and hardware (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Brocade, Meraki, Aruba, Sophos, etc).

Resolve network issues, minimize system down time, and ensure that the network is operational.

Assist the cyber security team in implementing policies, procedures, and technologies to secure the network using various types of technologies such as firewalls, network management, access control systems, logging / monitoring software (SIEM), and routine security evaluations.

Schedule and perform standard configuration, management, and maintenance tasks for related network devices and applications.

Review and deploy network upgrades and vendor-supplied patches according to best practices.

Assist with managing security technologies such as firewalls, multi-factor authentication, email filtering, and web filtering.

Assist in both hardware and software upgrades.

Track and report on the health / status of the network.

Document network updates and design changes using change management processes.

Diagnose network connectivity issues using the OSI model.

Troubleshoot connectivity, quality of service, break/fix, voice quality, and configuration (feature, services and network) issues within the hosted VoIP environment.

Participate in the network team on call rotation.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Non-Essential Tasks

Interact with carriers and ISPs to troubleshoot issues involving circuits or DIDs as required by the Enterprise.

Perform and assume other duties and responsibilities as required by the Infrastructure Director.

Education

Requires a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.

Prefer a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Licenses and/or Certifications

Valid United States Driver’s License

Network+, Security+ or Cisco Certified Technician Routing and Switching desired.

CCNA, or higher-level certification preferred.

Experience

Requires three or more years of data network equipment experience.

Knowledge

Must have knowledge of implementing and supporting enterprise networks in a multi-user environment.

Must have knowledge of Wi-Fi, Firewall, and network technologies (i.e. Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Aruba, Brocade).

Must have knowledge of cyber techniques and tactics.

Must obtain knowledge of and perform according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies of BioBridge Global.

Must have knowledge of data center best practices for infrastructure planning, monitoring, and operations.

Skills

Must have excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills.

Must possess strong organizational, customer service, and troubleshooting skills.

Must possess or able to gain a working knowledge of Linux OS, Microsoft Windows, and VMware.

Abilities

Must be able to document work following best practices.

Must be able to keep information confidential.

Must be neat in appearance and well groomed.

Must be professional, organized, detail oriented, communicative, and have the ability to greet the public in a friendly and courteous manner.

Working Environment

Works in a well-lighted, air conditioned and heated office. May be exposed to electrical and chemical hazards and other conditions common to an office environment. May be required to work at any time of the day, evening or night during the week or weekend. Ability to use personal motor vehicle for company business required. Physical Requirements

Must be able to drive on behalf of the organization.

Will sit, stand, walk, and bend during working hours.

Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

Required to lift and carry relatively light materials.

Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing corrected to a normal range.
