Full Time Opportunity- 3 days in office
Role Overview We are seeking a hands-on Head of Engineering to lead our technology strategy and execution. This role is ideal for a senior engineering leader with a proven track record of building secure, scalable systems in high-growth or startup environments. s a key member of the leadership team, you will define our long-term engineering vision, guide architectural decisions, and mentor a growing team. You will collaborate cross-functionally to deliver enterprise-grade, data-driven solutions for the evolving open finance landscape.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Set and drive the long-term technical vision and engineering roadmap Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team Foster a collaborative, innovative engineering culture aligned with company values
Technical Oversight
Own end-to-end architecture and execution for all technical initiatives Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, including code quality, security, performance, and scalability Guide technology stack decisions and evaluate emerging technologies for business impact
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure alignment and delivery Communicate technical concepts clearly to executive and non-technical stakeholders
Operational Excellence
Oversee project timelines, delivery milestones, and engineering resource allocation Implement and uphold rigorous QA, testing, and deployment stan Manage engineering budgets, tools, and infrastructure investments
Talent & Team Building
Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent Build an inclusive and results-oriented engineering culture Mentor engineers at all levels and lead by example
Requirements:
10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in engineering leadership roles Proven success scaling engineering teams and systems in startup or high-growth environments Expertise in software architecture, cloud infrastructure, and data systems Familiarity with modern SDLC practices: CI/CD, automated testing, code review, Agile methodologies Experience with compliance, data privacy, or fintech regulations is a strong plus Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and communication skills Comfortable navigating ambiguity and leading in a dynamic, fast-paced environment This role is hybrid/in-office and requires regular presence at our NYC headquarters Collaborate in-person with teams at our New York City office to drive initiatives
