We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Senior Data Engineer
with a strong background in the
Provider Healthcare domain . The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and analytics solutions that support clinical and operational decision-making. This role requires deep expertise in database technologies, performance optimization, and data integration processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable data pipelines to support healthcare analytics and reporting. Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights. Optimize database performance and ensure high availability of data systems. Develop and maintain ETL processes for integrating data from various healthcare systems (EHRs, billing, scheduling, etc.). Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA). Perform regular backup and recovery operations to safeguard critical data assets. Support data modeling and architecture initiatives aligned with healthcare provider workflows. Provide
Level 2 (L2) support
for database-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to healthcare operations. Required Skills & Experience:
Expertise in SQL Server and Oracle databases
with strong proficiency in writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning. Experience in performance tuning
of large-scale databases and data pipelines. Hands-on experience in ETL processes and analytics , preferably using tools like SSIS, Informatica, or Talend. Strong understanding of backup and recovery strategies
in enterprise environments. Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, CPT) and provider workflows. Experience working with data from EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech is a plus. Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles, with at least 2 years in the healthcare domain. Certifications in database technologies or healthcare IT (e.g., Epic Data Certification) are a plus.
