Are you a visionary leader ready to revolutionize the education landscape for gifted students? If you believe in transforming the U.S. education system to better serve high-potential kids, and you're eager to take on a challenge with both moral and urgent significance, your opportunity awaits at gt.school. Here, we're pioneering a new school model that compresses academic time into focused sessions, allowing students to engage in meaningful pursuits. As we embark on building a physical model campus, you'll spearhead this initiative, aiming to set a national standard for excellence. Your mission is to create, validate, and launch this prototype campus, building a culture that thrives on leadership, competition, and community. We seek a dynamic individual with founder-level passion and execution prowess to redefine educational excellence.
What You Will Be Doing
- Innovate and test scalable programs that transcend academics, emphasizing leadership, independence, and competition
- Develop and validate a physical model campus, including staffing, space design, and operational frameworks
- Create parent-focused messaging, marketing strategies, and growth blueprints to drive expansion
- Establish and document quality standards and cultural practices for future sites
- Serve as the public ambassador for the model, enhancing visibility through media, events, and partnerships
What You Won’t Be Doing
This is not a role for traditional school management. You will not:
- Operate a conventional school with typical classrooms and a full-day schedule
- Offer watered-down gifted programs with minimal challenge
- Focus on incremental changes in existing schools; we aim to replace, not fix
- Pursue superficial engagement metrics; our focus is on substantial outcomes and profound learning
- Work entirely remotely; expect to spend about one week per month in Austin to ground your efforts in reality
Program Director Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibility is to design, validate, and expand a high-performance school model for gifted students, starting with a prototype campus and evolving into a nationwide network.
Basic Requirements
- Have experience building and scaling a high-impact venture from scratch, preferably in physical operations or education, with at least $1M in yearly revenue under your leadership
- Possess a deep, personal understanding of gifted students, gained through personal, professional, or lived experiences
- Be adept at leveraging AI to enhance execution and decision-making
- Demonstrate the ability to articulate a compelling vision and convert skeptics into advocates
- Reside in the U.S. and be willing to travel to Austin regularly (at least one week per month)
- Be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
