A law firm seeks an IP & Technology Litigation Associate with 4-6 years of experience to join its Washington, DC office. The successful candidate will have significant client contact and will play an integral role in patent litigation, trade secret disputes, false advertising, and other IP-related matters. Duties:
- Manage and litigate IP cases, including patent, trade secret, false advertising, and unfair competition disputes in federal courts and before the USITC.
- Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, appellate briefs, and correspondence with opposing counsel.
- Collaborate with experts in preparing reports and managing expert discovery.
- Oversee discovery processes, including document discovery, written discovery, and depositions.
- Assist in preparing for jury and bench trials, as well as administrative hearings before PTAB and ITC.
- Engage in dispute resolution strategies, including mediation and other methods of dispute settlement.
- Provide research, legal writing, and analysis to support IP litigation efforts.
- Participate in PTAB proceedings and ITC matters.
- Work closely with partners and team members on various stages of litigation, from early case preparation to trial and appeal.
Requirements:
- 4-6 years of experience in patent litigation, preferably with experience in ITC matters.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Experience handling complex IP litigation and managing client relationships.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and provide insightful, creative solutions to legal challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple deadlines and responsibilities.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Licensed to practice law in the state of hire and in good standing.
- A background in science or engineering is a plus.
