We're hiring a
Senior IT Systems Administrator
to support and secure our IT infrastructure in a hands-on role that will work closely with the
Director of IT . This position is ideal for someone eager to take ownership of key systems and processes - especially in patching, vulnerability management, and Active Directory - while collaborating with a technical leader across multiple domains.
You'll help shape the company's cybersecurity posture, drive operational stability, and support cloud migration efforts in a dynamic and growing industry-sector environment. This is a full-time on-site salary position.

Key Responsibilities
Own the full patching and vulnerability management lifecycle across Windows, Linux, and Mac environments. This includes operating OpenVAS vulnerability scans, prioritizing and remediating vulnerabilities, and submitting reports to the Director of IT. Administer and harden Active Directory in alignment with CIS benchmarks. Configure and maintain monitoring and alerting across Windows, Linux, VMWare, and Azure systems. Support storage and backup systems and contribute to business continuity/disaster recovery plans. Implement and enforce a least-privilege access model according to Zero Trust principles. Assist with secure data handling procedures, administer and configure reporting for file storage/sharing platforms such as Box and Google Drive. Share administration duties in the Endpoint Detection and Response system. Support Microsoft 365 and migration and administration of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365. Contribute to the upcoming migration from our on-premises mail system to Exchange Online. Participate in migrating from local Active Directory to a hybrid Entra/Azure AD environment. Apply working knowledge of networking principles to support Cisco switches and routers. Administer or assist with firewall configurations (Cisco Firepower preferred). Assist with our company-wide Security Awareness Training initiatives. Assist with supporting Cisco Call Manager telephony and Webex collaboration. Understand NIST 800-171 requirements and support implementation of security best practices; familiarity with CMMC is a plus. Contribute to IT policy documentation and technical procedures. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in IT, Networking, Security, or related field along with
5-7 years
of experience, (or equivalent related experience in lieu of a degree) in IT systems administration of mid-sized environments. A mid-sized environment in our case refers to over 100 active users and a heterogeneous mix of Windows and Mac workstations as well as Windows and Linux servers. Proven ability to lead vulnerability scanning and patching/remediation workflows independently. Experience supporting Active Directory, Modern SSO and identity systems, Windows and Linux servers, and endpoint systems. Understanding of Linux systems in support of patching, maintenance and troubleshooting. Familiarity with M365, Azure, and hybrid cloud transition work. Competence in system monitoring and alerting tools (Nagios, CheckMK, or equivalents). Experience supporting Cisco-based networks (routing/switching) and firewalls. Strong understanding of security fundamentals and practical application of NIST frameworks. Knowledge of industry regulations such as CMMC and experience with policy authoring. Solid communication skills and ability to write clear technical documentation. Preferred Certifications
(None required, but a plus - especially if already held or actively being pursued.)
