Hydraulic Pump & Motor Technician

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C., is hiring a Hydraulic Pump & Motor Technician in Baltimore, Maryland. The Hydraulic Pump & Motor Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, inspecting, removing, repairing and replacing equipment and hydraulic components, brake systems, electrical systems, air systems, transmissions and related power train systems. Seeking candidates with experience in the function and repair of all hydraulic pumps; pump, motor, valve and hydraulic cylinder rebuild experience preferred; military equipment experience or the completion of a diesel school program a plus; high school diploma or GED required. Requirements for the Hydraulic Pump & Motor Technician position include: Thorough understanding of hydraulic components, brake systems, electrical systems, air systems, transmissions and related power train systems. Must have ability to rebuild pumps, piston pumps, motors and valves. Must have good trouble shooting skills. Strong mechanical aptitude. Self-starter able to work with limited supervision. Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and service software. Must be able to complete service reports and provide pertinent details for work orders. Excellent customer satisfaction skills. Must be able to handle high volume of work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to occasionally operate heavy machinery. Must be able to additional hours to meet business and customer demands. Must be able to positively interact with supervisor and to understand problems and concerns relating to a repair. Requires good communication skills. Must be able to work as an integral part of a team. Promote a positive customer experience. Physical requirements must be met for the Hydraulic Pump & Motor Technician job, including the ability to push, pull, lift and carry up to 35 pounds, including bulky objects. This position requires repeated stooping, kneeling, bending and climbing beside, onto and under a variety of heavy equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned. Starting Compensation Range: $28.88

$35.68 per hour Actual base pay may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and other business needs. In addition to base pay, total compensation may include participation in performance-based incentive programs, such as discretionary or non-discretionary plans.
