A position is available in the Flow Cytometry Core Facility within the Department of Immunology. This shared resource facility supports the entire UT Southwestern campus by providing: Cell analysis and sorting Training for investigators Consultation on experimental design Data acquisition, analysis, and management The Laboratory Technical Assistant will work under minimal supervision to perform technical tasks requiring basic knowledge of scientific techniques and practices. Key Responsibilities

Perform mononuclear cell isolation and staining for flow and mass cytometry Conjugate antibodies with heavy metal tags for mass cytometry Conduct basic cell culture Operate and maintain flow cytometers (analyzers and sorters) Follow quality control procedures and maintain equipment Train facility users on equipment operation and data analysis Collaborate with users to optimize experiments and ensure high-quality data Perform general lab duties and housekeeping Benefits

Required: Education:

Bachelor's degree with major coursework in a related scientific field (no experience required), or Two (2) years of college with relevant coursework and two (2) years of laboratory experience, or High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of laboratory experience, including two (2) years at the level of Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent General Lab Duties

Perform routine scientific and medical research in biology, chemistry, physics, or related fields Assemble and operate laboratory equipment Record research data and discuss results with the supervisor Assist in data collection for project reports Read scientific literature and implement new procedures May supervise lower-level lab personnel in limited phases of research Perform other duties as assigned Security and EEO Statement
