Material Handling Tech III

Department: Dialysis Engineering Location: Park Ridge, 1561 Long Pond Rd, Suite 307, Rochester, NY 14626 Hours Per Week: 40 hours Schedule: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Summary: Provides hospital and affiliated facilities with materials to the designated area in an expedient manner and maintains accountability of supplies distributed and services performed. Performs inventory checks to ensure adequate supply distribution management. Responsibilities: Client Relations & Training: Builds collaborative relationships with Nurse Managers and Buyer/Planners to support departmental operations. Trains and mentors new Materials Handling Technicians and generates quarterly reports to monitor workflow efficiency and financial stability. Supply & Distribution Management: Inventories, replenishes, and maintains exchange and supply carts with a high degree of accuracy (1% error goal). Completes Par Level Forms via wireless tablets, ensures carts are neatly stocked, manages medical equipment supply levels, and keeps requisitions and par forms up to date. Receiving & Stock Handling: Verifies incoming materials against purchase orders, logs non-PO items, and ensures accurate documentation. Prioritizes urgent deliveries, manages rotation and storage of materials, maintains a clean and organized workspace, and conducts daily inventory of medical gases using tracking software. Messenger & On-Demand Services: Fulfills supply requests and ASAP/STAT orders with prompt, courteous service. Transports materials and linens securely and ensures all deliveries are signed for. Assists affiliated personnel in sourcing materials and resolving supply-related concerns. Inventory Control & Maintenance: Performs regular physical inventory counts, maintains clean and safe work environments, and operates equipment in accordance with safety protocols. May assist with crash cart preparation and monthly expiration monitoring in coordination with Pharmacy. Perioperative Inventory Management (If Applicable): Serves as a Tecsys Super User, troubleshooting system issues and leading inventory accuracy initiatives. Coordinates with stakeholders across MM, OR, and SPC teams, oversees conversion management, resolves supply chain issues, and ensures documentation is complete for returns and substitutions. Required Qualifications: 1 year of materials handling or related work experience Preferred Qualifications: Strong attention to detail and communication skills Familiarity and ability to use ERP technology and Microsoft applications effectively College degree preferred Strong ERP system background w/ proven record of being a 'super user' ElderONE only: 1 year of experience working with a frail or elderly population preferred. Education: Licenses / Certifications: Physical Requirements: H - Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires constant walking, standing or squatting.
