Geriatric Psychiatry Division Academic Faculty Psychiatrist

The UNM Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is eager to put together the right package for an individual with a passion for geriatric psychiatry and teaching, coupled with an interest in joining a team of talented, caring and committed faculty members. Applications are being accepted for an academic faculty psychiatrist, suitable for a part-time appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, for a position in our Geriatric Psychiatry Division. Clinical assignments will be at UNM Psychiatric Center. The successful candidate can take full advantage of opportunities available in our vibrant and active academic community. As an attending psychiatrist in our 15-bed geriatric psychiatry unit and outpatient clinics, the person selected will have a voice in developing the unit's direction as well as opportunities for multicultural clinical care and scholarly and collaborative research activities across the Health Sciences campus. There are many opportunities for professional development in leadership, administration, and education, including mentoring and supervision of medical students, residents, fellows, and trainees in related disciplines. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience and academic background. Minimum Qualifications: Medical Doctorate Degree (MD or equivalent) Board certified or board eligible in Geriatric Psychiatry Clinical experience

minimum 1 year Licenable in New Mexico Must be eligible to work in the United States Preferred Qualifications: Educational, teaching and supervision experience with residents, fellows and/or medical students Clinical leadership experience in an academic setting.
