Contribute original content and select the best elements for the show

Help lead our coverage during breaking news

Write banners and coordinate guest appearances

Potentially travel to field produce big interviews

Identify and pitch compelling stories

Participate in daily team meetings to develop show content

Oversee research packets and facts for day-of air

What You Will Need

Bachelors degree in journalism or related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

5+ years of experience in a newsroom environment, producing television newscasts

Excellent organizational, editorial, and writing skills

Ability to step in and line produce if needed

Approve and edit scripts, banners, and full screens

Experience working in a control room

Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and while meeting multiple daily deadlines

Strong passion for and knowledge of current events, news, and politics

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $67,000.00-120,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
