Position Summary: The Quality Lead is responsible and accountable for the compliance of the Quality Control Inspection team. Additionally, the Lead directly supervises the Quality Control Inspection team and ensures that all Inspectors have the required skillset and/or ability to perform their jobs properly and in alignment with the TransPak Quality Organization. Additionally, the Lead participates in reviews and conformance checks of internal processes that support compliance to customer requirements such as receiving inspection, in process inspection, cutsheet accuracy and TransPak design accuracy. The Quality Lead also contributes to maintain Quality Assurance functions such as moisture management, calibration, training, and ISO 9001 compliance. They also record, monitor, and analyze data to pass on to the Operations, Sr. Management, and Quality teams. The Quality Lead is the senior position for Quality Control Inspectors. Essential Functions: Product Inspection: Ensures all product meets both customer and TransPak requirements. Responsible for making sure that nonconformances are documented and recorded appropriately and properly inspected prior to release. Inspect product or process with specialized tools. This may include weighing or measuring finished products, visually inspecting workmanship and/or gauging product reliability. May be required to conduct controlled testing on products or processes to determine how the products or processes perform in a simulated environment. Improvement Recommendations: Reviews, implements and follows up on external and internal corrective actions derived from customer complaints, customer returns, and/or non-conformances found and their root causes. Reviews customer requirements, i.e. drawings and specifications, and reports feedback to Design Engineering and Quality management. Shares feedback with the manufacturing and production department and other support functions when nonconformances or inefficiencies are identified. Participates in ISO audits to ensure local and company-wide compliance to specified standards. Training and Supervising: Trains and coaches team(s) in a specific job role to ensure work is performed as expected. Directly responsible for Quality control Inspector team development and improvement. Advocates for training and contributes to new training material. Gives feedback about performance to job expectations to ensure respectful accountability. May manage time and attendance system and team member schedules for start/stop, meal and rest periods and time-off.
