Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an ALPS Associate Manufacturing Engineer or ALPS Manufacturing Engineer for our Affordable Long-term Production and Scaling team focused on Affordability improvement and Production Scaling projects at our Clearfield-Layton, UT site. This position supports a Monday
Thursday 4x10 schedule. The selected candidate will provide critical support in a high-volume high-mix production environment, working closely with Operations, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Scheduling, and Maintenance. Our goal is to minimize downtime on the production line by troubleshooting, problem solving, and proactively identifying areas of concern. Our engineers work to continuously improve their processes, eliminating process variation and waste while building in quality. Join us in the team effort to meet our production goals! Responsibilities: Collaborate within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to develop and implement process improvements as well as support site initiatives. Work closely with manufacturing personnel in the highly automated production of composite aerospace components. Author, modify, and audit shop floor electronic work instructions (EWIs). Perform root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities to permanently eliminate defects. Troubleshoot production/equipment/program/tooling issues and implementing improvements and solutions. This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Engineer Manufacturing or Engineer Manufacturing level. Basic Qualifications for an Associate Engineer Manufacturing: Be completing or has completed their Bachelors degree from an accredited institution by August 2026. Be majoring in or having majored in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar STEM degree. Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start. Experience with assembly and composite manufacturing processes. Ability to work on the manufacturing floor. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills to communicate effectively at all levels of management and to individual contributors. Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). EVM certification and/or exposure. BOE experience for proposals and/or initiative projects. Board experience: TCCB, TRB, CB, CRI, AIR, FAST. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint. Prior experience operating in a dynamic environment of increasing production schedules and high delivery rates. Siemens NX, CPLM, SAP, and MES experience. Lean Manufacturing experience. Pay Range: Associate Engineer Manufacturing: $58,200 to $87,200. Engineer Manufacturing: $70,200 to $105,400.
