Postdoctoral Scientist Opportunity
The Kaushal Lab at Texas Biomedical Research Institute is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scientist to join the team focused on advancing our understanding of tuberculosis (TB) and TB/HIV co-infection. Contribute to groundbreaking research on tuberculosis (TB) pathogenesis, including latent and active TB, and its interactions with HIV, to support the development of new vaccines and therapies. Conduct independent and collaborative research under the mentorship of Dr. Deepak Kaushal, a leading expert in TB and TB/HIV co-infection using nonhuman primate models. Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication, sharing novel findings in the field of infectious disease research. Assist in the development of grant proposals and contract applications, supporting the lab's ongoing and future funding efforts. Engage in scientific seminars, conferences, and collaborative meetings relevant to TB, HIV, and immunopathogenesis, enhancing both scientific knowledge and professional development. Our Ideal Candidate: A highly motivated candidate with a Doctoral Degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D., D.D.S., or equivalent) from an accredited institution, demonstrating a strong foundation in relevant scientific disciplines. Expertise in experimental design, data analysis, and hypothesis testing. Strong skills in writing research papers, grant proposals, and progress reports. Excellent verbal communication skills to present findings at seminars and conferences and collaborate effectively with peers.
